How to Turn Safety Supervisors Into Safety Leaders

|
Is safety in your organization a value or a dictate? If it’s a value, your employees will internalize and support a culture of safety. If it’s dictated, safety-focused thinking and behavior will only happen when external forces are applied. Once these forces slack, safety slacks.
The million dollar question is how do we get workers to internalize these values? The short answer: Strong leadership from your supervisors. Supervisors who lead are simply more effective than those who dictate. They communicate better, they coach better, they inspire better and they model behavior better.
This conference will offer proven guidelines to turn your safety supervisors into safety leaders. At the end of this session, supervisors will be able to: |
Learning Objectives :
- Outline the qualities that make a strong leader
- Explain the difference between leadership and supervision
- Identify real-world examples of leadership behavior in your organization
- Turn their current supervisory skills into solid leadership techniques
- Explain proactive/constructive ways to obtain employee input
- Overcome the urge to focus on the negative and develop skills to deliver constructive feedback
