The Business of Safety Part II - Front Line Supervisors in Leadership Roles

In March of 2004, Compliance Magazine hosted "The Business of Safety; translating safety performance into bottom line benefits". The conference was a tremendous success with over 150 people's participation.

In February of 2005, the same conference topic was presented at the world's largest construction and agricultural industry convention in Las Vegas, hosting over 100,000 participants from around the world.

Jeffery C. Camplin, CSP, CPEA

Jeff Camplin is president of Camplin Environmental Services Inc., Rosemont, Ill., a firm that provides safety and environmental consulting services, including asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and OSHA compliance assistance. Camplin has a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health from Northern Illinois University. As a professional member in the ASSE, he is currently working with their environmental practice specialty to develop programs to help bridge the gap between the safety and environmental professions. He received ASSE's 2003 Presidents Award for his work with the USEPA's Lead Safe Work Practices initiative.

Dan Cote

Dan Cote is VP of safety and president of MEMIC Safety Services, a workers' compensation specialty insurer in Portland, Maine. Cote developed the company's safety consulting strategy in 1993 and continues to act as change agent for 20,000 policyholders. In 1996, he formed a subsidiary providing for the sale of safety consulting services across the country. An adjunct professor for safety and risk management for the University of Southern Maine (USM), Cote serves on their curriculum advisory committee.
